Tasks & Subtasks Block, Wowzers.Wowzers is a task-centric tool. That is, tasks and their derivative, the to-do, underpin many features in the app. For example, you can add tasks and to-dos to the Standup board or convert a task or to-do to a card.

Both tasks and to-dos pack a host of features to help you get stuff done, including the ability to add notes and attachments to individual tasks and to-dos. Where a task comprises multiple steps or activities, break this down into a series of subtasks.

You can add an extra layer of granularity by adding a Task group. Task groups act like headings for tasks and subtask. They cannot be assigned to a team member or given a due date.

How to add task, subtask or task group.

To add a task, subtask or task group, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the task & subtask block. Can’t see it? Add a block.
  2. Click the ‘Add Task’ button to add a task, or if you want to add a task group, click the ‘Add Task Group’ button.
  3. Enter a description for your task, subtask or task group and press the Enter/Return key.
  4. Reorder the tasks, subtasks or task groups by dragging and dropping.
  5. [OPTIONAL] For tasks and subtasks, consider…:
    • Assign the task or subtask to a team member in the ‘Assign to…’ drop-down.
    • Give the task or subtask a due date in the ‘Due by…’ date picker.
    • Add  a note or attachments by clicking the task/subtask description.

The field(s) will autosave.

How to edit a task, subtask or task group.

To edit a task, subtask or task group, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the task & subtask block.
  2. Locate the task group, task or subtask you wish to edit.
  3. Make your desired changes. You can:
    • Edit the task description by clicking the pencil icon.
    • Update the task, subtask or task group by clicking on any of the fields.
    • Reorder the task, subtask or task group by dragging and dropping.
    • Mark a task or subtask as done by placing a tick in the check box.
    • Convert a task or subtask to a card.

The field(s) will autosave.

How to add notes to a task or subtask.

To add notes to a task or subtask, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the task & subtask block.
  2. Locate the task group, task or subtask you wish to add a note too.
  3. Click the three-dot (eclipse) icon next and click ‘Add note’.
  4. Enter your note in the text field provided, clicking the (x) button when you are done.

The note will be saved.

You can also add attachments to specific tasks & subtasks. Great if you are delegating specific activities to individuals.

How to delete a task, subtask or task group.

To delete a task & subtask, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the task & subtask block.
  2. Locate the task group, task or subtask you wish to delete.
  3. Click the three dot icon next and click ‘Delete Task’ or ‘Delete Task Group’.

The task, subtask or task group will be deleted.

You cannot delete a task or task group until all corresponding subtasks have been deleted.
